The Construction Sector has been active within the Association since 1997. It unites four sections: Nesher Cement Industries, Israeli Association of Quarrying Industries, Society of Imported Concrete Manufacturers and Society of Concrete Infrastructure Products.
Areas of activity
Standards:
- Participation in managerial committees of the Standards Institution of Israel.
- Agreeing on a unified stand and policy concerning standards.
- Appointing representatives to the Standards Institution’s various committees.
- Coordinating managerial procedures for ongoing activities.
- Agreeing on policyand preparing working papers on all issues related to the sector.
Cooperation
- Strengthening working relations with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor, Building Contractors’ Association, Standards Institution of Israel, etc., in order to increase cooperation and to promote the sector’s interests.
- Meetings and negotiations with the government and public sectors.
- Gathering information from data banks, e.g. fortnightly tenders.
- Cooperation in utilizing resources.
Research and Development
- Checking the possibility of government involvement in financing relevant research.
Economic Data
- Monthly/quarterly economic and statistical analysis of the branch.
- Providing economic surveys to the media, etc.
- Initiating surveys and market research as needed.
Individual Services
- Providing ongoing services to plants on specific subjects.
- Professional advice on legal anlegislative matters, as well s customs and taxation.
- Representing the sector on various professional committees.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Organizing a wide range of functions, including seminars, annual conventions, participation in exhibitions in Israel and overseas, etc.
- Holding an annual assembly for members who belong to other associations.
- Publishing professional journals.
